Calculator models are already more than many, but manufacturers don’t stand out for their innovation. The stable market allows them to sell machines at a beneficial price for the underlying hardware. The software is typically proprietary, and often variants of the same model use the same hardware with different software configurations.

Symbolibre tries to overcome this situation and stimulate innovation. We develop a graphing calculator for middle and high-schoolers, using widely-available hardware and free software. This guarantees a flexible calculator that will adapt to its users’ needs.
